The Badji Band is a quartet that seamlessly combines ethnic music with modern jazz, funk and fusion. This band takes its audience on a journey, beginning in West Africa and circulating the whole world, breaking all boundaries and stylistic barriers. All this is possible thanks to the wide range of instruments and sounds that the members of The Badji Band enjoy. Kora, percussion, contemporary drum-kit, bass guitar, keyboards, trumpet, flugelhorn and three voices create endless possibilities for sounds, melodies and arrangements.
Besides Ablaye, the remaining musicians include: Marcin Markuszewski (Blue Cafe, Various Manx, Mika Urbaniak, Slawek Uniatowski), Jacek Pietrzak (Chuck Mangione, Jan "Ptaszyn" Wróblewski, Edyta Górniak) and Kamil Stasiak (Liroy, Lanberry). All musicians are multi-instrumentalists who enjoy the full spectrum of their performances during concerts.
In February 2017, The Badji Band recorded a promo single, for an album which the musicians are currently working on. The track Banial was recorded in the Radio Łódź im. H. Debicha recording studio, and mixed by Paweł Marciniak from the studio Manx. Banial, which wonderfully reflects the quartet's style, was released as an audio-video
